Privacy policy
NV Auto Detail(“we”, “us”, “our”) operates this website and a mobile auto detailing service. This policy explains what information we collect from you, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights regarding that information.
1. Information we collect
When you book an appointment we collect: your name, phone number, email address, service address, vehicle details (year/make/model), and any notes you choose to provide. We also record the date and time of your appointment and the services you selected. We do not collect payment card information — we collect payment in person via Venmo, Zelle, or cash at the time of service.
When you visit this website, your traffic passes through Cloudflare, the network that sits in front of our server, which automatically logs request metadata such as your IP address, user-agent, and timestamps for security and abuse-prevention purposes. When you submit a booking, we also store your IP address, approximate country, browser user-agent, and a first-party browser identifier alongside your request to help us detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive bookings. We set two first-party cookies for this purpose: “nvad_cid” (a random identifier that lets us recognize repeat bookings from the same browser) and — only if you arrive through a referral link — “nvad_ref” (which records the referral code). For traffic insights we use Cloudflare’s privacy-first web analytics, which is cookieless and does not track you across other websites; we run no advertising scripts and do not sell your data.
2. How we use your information
- To schedule, confirm, perform, and follow up on your detailing appointment.
- To notify you by email about your booking — receipt of your request, our approval or decline, changes, cancellations, and your receipt after service.
- If — and only if — you opted in to text messages, to send transactional SMS messages (confirmation, 24-hour reminder) and operational follow-ups (a 48-hour thank-you message that may invite you to leave a review). See Section 3.
- To call you about your appointment when we need to coordinate access, arrival, or a schedule change — this is why the phone field is required, and it does not depend on text consent.
- To process referrals between you and neighbors you refer.
- To maintain accounting records of completed jobs as required for tax purposes.
3. SMS communications (optional)
Text messages are optional. The SMS-consent box on our booking form is unchecked by default, and checking it is not a condition of booking an appointment, of buying any service, or of anything else we do. You can submit a booking request, have it approved, and have your vehicle detailed without ever agreeing to receive a text from us.
We do require a phone number on the booking form. That is because we are a mobileservice: the operator drives to your address, and we need to be able to reach you — by voice call — to coordinate the appointment, confirm access to the vehicle, or let you know we are running late. Requiring a phone number for appointment coordination is separate from consent to receive text messages, and giving us your number does not by itself opt you in to SMS.
If you do check the box, you give express written consent to receive transactional SMS messages from NV Auto Detailabout your appointments — booking confirmations, reminders, and follow-ups. We do not send marketing SMS. Message frequency varies based on your appointments — typically 2–4 messages per appointment. Message and data rates may apply. We record the date, your IP address, and the exact wording you agreed to, and retain that record as described in Section 5.
If you do not check the box, we do not text you, and we send your booking notifications — request received, approval or decline, cancellations, and your receipt — to your email address instead. The 24-hour reminder and the post-service follow-up are text-only, so you will simply not receive those.
You can withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP to any message; we stop texting that number and continue notifying you by email. Leaving the consent box unchecked on a later booking also withdraws it — we treat your most recent booking as your current preference and stop texting that number. Reply HELPfor help. Standard message and data rates apply per your carrier’s plan.
4. Who we share information with
We share the minimum information required with the following third parties so they can perform their function:
- Telnyx— our SMS provider. They receive your phone number and the message body required to deliver each SMS.
- Google Calendar— receives appointment time, address, and customer name so the operator’s personal calendar reflects the schedule.
- Google Maps & Places— when you type your service address on the booking form, address suggestions load from Google’s Places service directly in your browser, so Google receives your IP address and the address text you type as you type it. Separately, we send appointment addresses to Google Maps to compute the daily route the operator drives. Address data is not retained by us outside our database.
- Google (Gmail)— we send transactional email (booking confirmations, receipts, referral notices) through a Google account using the Gmail API; Google processes each message in order to deliver it.
- Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging)— when you book or a booking changes, we send a push notification containing your name and booking details (date, time, service, vehicle) to the operator’s registered devices; Google processes each notification in order to deliver it.
- Cloudflare— proxies all traffic to and from this website (including the details you submit) and provides security and analytics services. Your booking details are stored in a database on a server we operate ourselves; Cloudflare does not host that database.
We do not sell your information. We do not rent it. We do not share it with marketing aggregators.
5. How long we keep your information
Customer records and appointment history are retained for the lifetime of our business relationship plus seven (7) years for accounting and tax purposes. SMS-opt-in records are retained for four (4) years per US carrier compliance requirements. You may request deletion of personal information that is not subject to a retention requirement at any time — email us at [email protected].
6. Your rights
You have the right to: (a) access the personal information we hold about you; (b) request correction of inaccurate information; (c) request deletion subject to the retention requirements in Section 5; (d) opt out of SMS communications via STOP keyword or by emailing us; and (e) request a copy of your data in a portable format. Email us at [email protected] to exercise any of these rights.
7. Children's privacy
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with a refreshed “Last updated” date. Continued use of our services after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
